Overview

ESAMTAC-certified installation

Sivar Electric Inc. holds ESAMTAC certification — Electrical Safety and Maintenance for Technical Applications — training developed for the electricians who install and maintain energy storage systems. That training covers the safe handling, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of battery systems, where stored electrical energy demands specialized care.

A battery backup system is only as good as the electrical work around it. Sizing the system, deciding which circuits stay live during an outage, and building a backup loads panel that separates those circuits are the decisions that determine how the system behaves when the grid goes down.

We handle the complete electrical scope: service and panel evaluation, backup loads panel, conductors and conduit, disconnects and overcurrent protection, battery and inverter mounting, and commissioning with the equipment manufacturer's requirements in mind.

Safety first

Battery systems combine stored DC energy with utility AC power and remain energized even when the grid is down. Installation, interconnection, and disconnect labeling are licensed electrical work, not a DIY project.

Common reasons customers add battery backup

  • Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events and storm outages
  • Keeping refrigeration, medical equipment, well pumps, or networking online
  • Pairing storage with an existing or planned solar array
  • Time-of-use rate management and reduced peak grid draw
  • Backup for home offices and small commercial operations
  • Preparing an electrical system for added EV charging and electrification loads

The process

What a battery installation generally involves

  1. 01

    Load and service review

We evaluate your service, main panel, and the loads you want supported during an outage.

  2. 02

    System sizing

Backup duration goals and the selected loads determine battery capacity and inverter configuration.

  3. 03

    Backup loads panel

Critical circuits are separated into a dedicated panel so the system supports them cleanly.

  4. 04

    Installation

Battery, inverter, disconnects, conduit, and conductors are installed with proper mounting, clearances, and labeling.

  5. 05

    Commissioning and testing

The system is energized, tested through a simulated outage, and handed over with monitoring set up.
